Metta Memory
What is Metta Memory?
Metta Memory is a specialized program that offers compassionate, personalized care for individuals living with memory loss. Focused on dignity and fostering meaningful connections, the program combines innovative memory care techniques with a nurturing environment to ensure residents feel supported and engaged.
Through tailored activities and therapeutic interventions, Metta Memory promotes cognitive function and enhances quality of life. By working closely with families and employing a dedicated team trained in memory care, the program provides a holistic approach that prioritizes emotional, mental, and physical well-being.
The Benefits of Metta Memory
Age In Place
With the advanced levels of care we offer, residents do not have to move elsewhere as their cognitive or physical health deteriorates.
Research confirms the stress of moving and adjusting to a new environment can increase the effects of Alzheimer's and dementia. You and your loved one can find comfort in knowing that when they require the extra assistance of memory care, they will be able to receive that at Metta Lifestyles.
Multi-Sensory Stimulation
Multi‐sensory stimulation (MSS) has become an increasingly popular approach to care and is used globally. At Metta Lifestyles, our programming, activities and sensory murals are designed to promote MSS.
Research has shown that stress is critically involved in the development and progression of Alzheimer's disease. Through our sensory murals, positive approach, and programs, Metta Memory is intended to lower residents' anxiety and create a stress-free environment.
Helping Caregivers
A person with Alzheimer's or dementia requires a lot of attention and help. Being a caregiver can become a significant strain on a person's mental and physical health. That is why choosing Metta Memory will provide you with peace of mind.
Residents are in a secure and safe environment receiving around-the-clock care and support. There has been much research that has studied the stresses and burnout that caregivers experience.
Metta Memory Communities
Busy Hands at Queens Estate
Busy Hands is a multi-sensory program designed to provide meaningful engagement through both structured and unstructured activities. Our structured sessions are held every morning, while unstructured opportunities allow residents to participate whenever they wish, fostering independence and choice.
The program focuses on person-centered care, encouraging residents to engage in familiar tasks that stimulate their senses, evoke memories, and restore a sense of calm. Activities like folding towels, gardening, setting the table, or sorting buttons promote purpose and social connection in a natural and comforting environment.
Residents at Queens Estate benefit from a holistic approach to care that touches every aspect of their daily life. Meals, activities, and social interactions are thoughtfully integrated throughout the entire community, ensuring that each resident is constantly engaged, stimulated, and supported. By focusing on what individuals can do rather than their limitations, we create opportunities for meaningful participation and connection.
Greenview's Sensory Projector
The Omi Sensory Projector enhances well-being and brings joy to individuals through interactive experiences. Combining technology and imagination, it fosters laughter, connection, and empowerment while offering a fresh approach to Memory Care that enriches lives with meaningful moments.
With activities like memory-boosting quizzes, therapeutic nature scenes, social games, and nostalgic music, it promotes physical, cognitive, and emotional engagement. Benefits include improved socialization, emotional stability, physical movement, and stronger relationships among users, caregivers, and families. Its flexible design ensures inclusivity, creating opportunities for shared joy and connection in any setting.

Signs and Symptoms
When referring to Alzheimer's and dementia, people usually described these diseases in stages, specifying the symptoms' severity. In the early stages of Alzheimer's, the most common symptoms include:
-
Memory Loss
-
Difficulty learning new things and following conversations
-
Difficulty concentrating or a restricted attention span
-
Mood shifts
-
Occasional coordination problems
In the middle stage of this disease, you will begin to see a noticeable decrease in cognitive and functional abilities. Although your loved one's abilities may be deteriorating, they may still be aware of their condition. Usually, at this stage, a person's care is increased, community programming may be helpful, and families may opt for a memory care program like Metta Memory.
The late stage of Alzheimer's disease is the most significant or advanced stage of the disease. People in this stage are usually unable to communicate or look after themselves. In this stage, it is typical for severe impairment, losing the capacity for recognizable speech, and losing the ability to eat or walk without assistance.
